Episode 20 - The Open Metaverse Podcast
In this episode, we meet with Miko Matsumura, managing partner of gumi Cryptos Capital. We explored what mass adoption of web3 could look like - how the shorter 4-year Bitcoin cycle results in much faster infrastructure development but also a higher rate of fraud and scams, leading to much more aggressive institutional financial regulation. We then thought about how web2 could be co-opting web3 - taking its key selling points but avoiding tokenization and decentralization.
We spoke about the effects of AI on web3 - AI to AI services replacing SaaS, decentralized compute and programmatic key management. Miko also introduced us to MPC - multi-party computation.
Additionally, we delved into the topic of real world assets (RWA) or ZK proofs and their new identity and privacy applications in today's digital climate.
